From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, demons, and dark forces growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to head next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death started the narrative’s action—used the foes for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.
Casimir then settled his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could help the team reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them little choice but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
